eurobillr proxies the public Peppol Directory search-API server-side, mapping European VAT prefixes to the matching ISO 6523 scheme codes (e.g. BE → 9925, IT → 9906, DE → 9930, FR → 9957, NL → 9944) before querying. Results are cached for an hour so the upstream stays happy under load.
